Addictions

Whether they be cigarettes, alcohol, facebook, soda, craigslist, videogames...
they are all addictions

Sometimes, these addictions get the best of us to the point where we don't know that it is hurting us.
Other times, we acknowledge our addictions and try to fight it ourselves or with the help of a friend.

These addictions keep luring us back in even after we fight it.
Let's say your addiction is bidding on random things you find amusing on ebay.com. Whenever you're checking your facebook or doing some research on the computer, it is so easy to just type ebay.com, press enter, and start bidding. The only way to fight it is to be around people that will actively block you from the site.
Your friend could place a different password on your accounts...

Some friends have done that for facebook especially during finals week. They would ask their close friends to change their passwords. What most people don't know is that you can send that new password to your email if you want. TRAP CARD.

Right now, some might be thinking, "wow, these people are weak." But we've all been there. we've all
had/have addictions. Some don't have as much self-control as others, but that's what friends are for.

As for the cigarettes, i think that's something the smoker as to do on their own. They have to be the one to realize that what they're doing is detrimental to their bodies. No friend can teach you that. Especially if you have my "not giving a fuck" personality. Only then can you try methods of quitting.
***I have nothing against smoking. I am just using this as an example

As for myself, I find myself blogging more often than I should be. These ideas just come to me and I would forget about them if I didn't immediately write them down. The way I look at it, this addiction  can possibly spread some wisdom to the few who read it. So even if it's taking time away from my studies, it still can do some good to others.

This is where motivation and inspiration come into play. To fight your habit, think of a quote that  gives you the chills or that makes you think. Also think of a person that you look up to. Could be a parent, a super hero,  a person in your favorite TV show.
